JC1 Information
JC1 Promotional Criteria
Academic performance of JC 1 students is regularly assessed.
Students must obtain: at least 30 rank points (This excludes H1 Mother-tongue language), including a pass in H1 General Paper.
The End-of-Year Examination in October accounts for 65% of the final grade.
The remaining 35% comprises:
15% from JC1 Common test
20% from continual assessments
Pass = ‘E’ grade and better
Retention is considered on a case-by-case basis.
Absence from examinations must be supported with a medical certificate or a valid reason within 3 days of absence. Otherwise, the student may be given a failure grade.
Grades/mark ranges for H1, H2 and H3 Subjects
The grades/mark ranges for the H1, H2 and H3 subjects would be as follows:
